WHO I WORK WITH
As a therapist, my work revolves around helping individuals and families understand and navigate their relational dynamics. My clients are often curious about exploring the complexities of their personality and how it manifests in their relationships. I believe that a willingness to be open-minded and introspective is key to making progress in therapy.
In addition to working with individuals, I also have experience working with families who are struggling to build healthier relationships with one another. Whether it's communication issues or other challenges, I'm dedicated to helping families find solutions that work for them.
Overall, my goal as a therapist is to help my clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships, and to empower them to make positive changes that can enhance their overall well-being.
MY APPROACH
My therapeutic style is grounded in a deep sense of relationality and informed by trauma and somatic theories and techniques. I take an integrative approach that combines various modalities, including systemic, person-centered, gestalt, attachment theory, and formative psychology. While I tend to be direct, I always prioritize compassion and respect in my work. I empower my clients to take personal responsibility for their own lives.
My psychodynamic background in Argentina also informs my approach to therapy, and I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is essential for facilitating healing and growth. I also recognize that unconscious psychological processes can influence an individual's thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. To challenge these processes, I sometimes incorporate CBT principles into my therapy sessions. While exploring past experiences is important for gaining insight into present-day issues, I also emphasize focusing on the here and now and the future as our main direction. With my systemic lens, I consider various influences and circumstances that may impact a client's situation.
My primary goal in working with clients is to provide a safe and supportive space where they can explore their vulnerabilities. I have found that clients who approach therapy with compassion and a realistic outlook tend to have the most success in achieving their goals.
MY BACKGROUND
I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. My family lineage is a mixture of many different cultures: French, German, British, Spanish, Italian, Lebanese and Native American. My family culture and history led me to explore the work of Family Constellations from an early age, which helped me heal and grow in a deep way. I decided then to dedicate my professional life to help others heal and grow.
I graduated with a degree in Psychology from the University of Belgrano in Buenos Aires and started my practice as a Psychotherapist in Argentina. Four years later I decided to continue my studies and moved to California to take part in the Masters in Somatic Psychology program at the California Institute of Integral Studies.
WHY I LOVE THIS WORK
The passion for this work stems from my love for people and my unwavering belief in the power of human transformation. I am incredibly grateful for my own journey of personal growth and the impact different teachers have had on my life. They have helped me to expand my perspective and explore new possibilities.
It's a privilege to be able to support and guide clients as they navigate their own journeys of self-discovery and growth. Witnessing their progress and seeing them overcome their challenges is an incredible source of inspiration for my own life. Brave and vulnerable clients who face their struggles inspire me the most. The journey of self-discovery is not always easy, but I believe that it's through facing our difficulties that we can experience true growth and transformation.
In short, working as a therapist allows me to pursue my passion for helping others achieve their full potential, while also providing me with the opportunity to learn and grow alongside my clients.
A BIT MORE ABOUT ME...
I love theater and have trained in Performing Arts at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York. I worked as a Psychology and Drama teacher at an international high school in Argentina. Today, I live close to nature and different hikes but I also enjoy going to the city to listen to music, meet with friends and discover new things. I arrived in California in 2019, just a couple of months before the pandemic hit!

In a few months of working with Lara, I now feel like the healthiest I’ve ever been in dating, bringing in so much more intentionality and consciousness into the ways in which I relate to other people. Lara has lovely energy and has really become an integral part in my healing the younger parts of myself. Would definitely recommend !”
